- Silk Screen Printing More information...
Although screen printing was developed by the Egyptians and Greeks as early as 2500 B.C., the process of using silk fabric as printing screens was elaborated upon by the Englishman, Mr. Samuel Simon, in 1970. Silk screen printing is also known as “laser printing” or “serigraphy” in Europe. This technique allows the printing of designs with a precise and distinct number of colors. This is also a less-expensive process, ideally suited for larger-quantity promotional projects.
- Offset Printing More information...
The offset printing process was developed in 1906 by Ira A. Rubel, a paper manufacturer. Offset printing is a perfect method for designs with gradual colors that make it difficult for customers to provide accurate artwork, and for designs that other printing methods cannot handle. It is also great for printing pictures, paintings, or lithography, and is more economical than silk-screen printing because it is non-plated.
